Handling your Stained Glass Panel
It is very important to correctly handle your stained glass panel
especially the larger or irregularly shaped pieces.
The correct method of holding the panel is to hold it vertically. This minimizes the stress in the
panel. Holding the panel
horizontally causes stress in the panel and can crack some of the pieces.
You may also need to sit the panel down during mounting. Do not lay the panel flat but rather tilt
it against a wall in a location where it won’t get knocked over. Again this minimizes the stress in the
panel and will reduce the chance of breakage.

Hanging your Stained Glass Panel
The method use to hang your stained glass panel will vary greatly
depending on the size of the panel and the display location. Here are some tips to assist you in
mounting your stained glass panel.
1. For
large panels (greater than 10”x10”) we recommend hard mounting using the supplied
hooks and chain. We recommend
drilling a small pilot hole into solid wood and screwing the hook(s) firmly
the wood. Test the strength of the
hook prior to hanging.
2. For
smaller panels our suggested hanging method is the same as for the larger
panels above.
3. Some
people like to use suction cups to hang some of our smaller panels. We do this at our studio as well. However, we will not be responsible for
any breakage occurring as a result of falling suction cups.
4. Another
popular option for hanging smaller panels is fishing line. Make sure the line is strong enough to
hold the panel and use either the supplied mounting hook or suction cups
(at your own risk) to secure it firmly to the window frame.
5. We
supply various length pewter-plated chains with most of our panels. In the event that you need a longer chain
please Contact
Us.

Cleaning your Stained Glass Panel
Your Stained Glass panel is crafted from real
stained-glass and solid pewter. The
pewter will not tarnish and should maintain the current appearance. To clean, use a small amount of your
regular glass cleaner and GENTLY wipe.
You may notice that a small amount of black is on the cloth. This is normal and is the patina used to
tone down the pewter. Make sure that
you do not pry up on the metal cames.
